5. Radiant Heat

When we were designing our house, we wanted to make it allergy-friendly, so we decided we were not going to have any carpet in the house. Our only concern with having no carpet was cold floors in the winter. After doing a lot of research, we decided on a radiant heat system, which provides heat from the floor instead of from a forced air duct system. Plastic tubing is snaked in the floor before the foundation is poured. Hot water is then circulated in the tubing, and this warms up the concrete foundation. We are really looking forward to warm toasty toes in the winter!

Here is a link that will give you more information on how its benefits and how it works.
